NSG 517 Final PPT Presentation

This project is planned to assist in the content culmination of this course since it has a relationship to the core competencies of NONPF. As you are working on your project, the NONPF core competencies document will be an important reference as will be your Hamric and Hanson’s textbook and canvas resources. 

You are not required to use any outside resources.  We are looking to see that you understand the competencies and how to support the competencies that are the foundation of your advanced practice required by the NSG 517 Final PPT Presentation.  Please be sure to review the rubric for this assignment.

You are going to create a 10 minute narrated powerpoint presentation on the topic you signed up for in Module 1.  You will post your narrated PPT to the designated Discussion Board by midnight Friday.  You will also give a brief peer review discussion board response for 2 of your peers.accordin to NSG 517 Final PPT Presentation, they must be from 2 different scenarios and not the same scenario you signed up for.   For example, if you chose to present scenario # 1, you may choose to do a peer review on a presentation from scenario # 2 and #4..

You will not review anyone who presented the same scenario as you. NSG 517 Final PPT Presentation also states that they should each be for 2 different scenarios and you will not give a peer review on someone who did the same scenario you presented and you will not do 2 peer reviews on the same scenario . That means you will give 2 peer reviews in total.  Your peer review should be no longer than 1-2 brief paragraphs. Please choose peer presentations that do not have 2 comments already.  See the rubric for the required elements which includes the peer review for this assignment.   When you post your narrated PPT to DB  please label it with your name and scenario #. For example- I would label my presentation Michael Zoltko

I think you did an excellent job laying out your presentation into an organized and clear manner. I think your relation to the course text shows your breath of knowledge acquired throughout this course and speaks to your understanding of the competencies themselves.

I liked that you described what we may see in the future as it relates to the technology competency. I think it will be interesting to see what is developed throughout the coming years as there have already been so many change in my short time as a registered nurse. You detailed some important components of role transition, seeing how this is something on everyone’s mind as we move through our masters education  according to NSG 517 Final PPT Presentation. I related mostly to your point regarding trusting your educational background and being open about not having all of the answers. I feel that is so important in healthcare. Overall, excellent discussion post thank you for your insights.

Your presentation on technology and informational literacy competency and practice inquiry competency was very informative. You showed that you have learned many important aspects of these competencies throughout the semester. You included several strategies that we can all utilize when transitioning into our new roles as APRNs. The two strategies that you provided that really stood out to me were learning to trust our education and clinical experiences and having our co-workers understand our new role as providers. I have caught myself question my own knowledge and experience even in situations I know I have knowledge and experience. I am also planning to shadow a APRN that I am a coworker of during some of my clinical’s and my manager has stated that I will need to make it very clear that during my clinical hours I am there to learn as an APRN student and not an RN on the job.

according to NSG 517 Final PPT Presentation, technology is always evolving and I think it will be interesting to see how it progresses throughout our careers. When I first started my nursing career I worked for a nursing home who still used paper charts. They eventually transitioned over to an EMR which made significant changes and advances for our jobs. Technology has both pros and cons but I feel it aides us in proving safe and quality care in an efficient manner.

I enjoyed your presentation, easy to follow and well-articulated. You discussed Telehealth and licensure mobility which are great for the future of both patients and healthcare professions. The Healthcare delivery industry will never be the same after COVID-19, which inspired us to re-assess how care is delivered. You stated that Telehealth is projected to be a 20-30 billion dollar industry in the next five years. Telehealth is one good thing that emerged from a bad situation that we need to embrace and develop further through advocating for policies that will enable its continuity through evidence-based research and recommendations from organizations such as the CDC and the US Department of Health and Human Services. Patients are complex due to increased life expectancy making transportation to and from healthcare centers tedious and expensive. More baby boomers will be retiring in a few years and are expected to live longer due to technological advancements in healthcare. As we transition into new roles with more responsibilities, being leaders who advocate for their patients is crucial, and keeping up with news on healthcare policies will come in handy. Politicians make policies that affect all stakeholders, so being knowledgeable is significant to the quality of care delivered. More people are lobbying for the federal government to invest in Telehealth as a way of reducing overcrowding in hospitals, cut back on transportation expenditure; hence, more people will be seen so that missed appointments don’t translate to a gap in healthcare delivery and improving medication adherence since the clinician will be able to send transcriptions to pharmacies and then drugs to be delivered to the patient’s home.
