1) Essential I is Liberal Education for Baccalaureate Generalist Nursing Practice in BSN program. I have been meeting the essential I for the program gradually. I understand the importance of liberal education. It is vital to responsible citizens in a global society (Davis & Kimble, 2011). I have fulfilled the requirements by taking some arithmetic and geometry courses. I have attended social sciences and have completed the final project work as well. It helped me grow as a person and enhanced my communication skills. It has been fascinating to engage in a group project and learn from my peers. I am planning on taking drama and broaden my knowledge of literature. I have always been a reading person, so I’d fir the right to complete these courses. These subjects can help me gain an understanding of different cultures and norms. They can help me communicate with my patients better and meet their spiritual needs, in addition to clinical needs. 2) There were several ways in which I was able to meet all the guidelines outlined in Essential II during the BSN program. First, I promoted factors that created safety and cared for the patient through concepts learned in fundamentals of nursing care relating to management and evaluation. By teaching concepts of patient safety principles encompassing safety standards to all patients, I knew how to practice patients’ safety when needed. I can choose and apply the right type of leadership to promote quality patient care through concepts acquired from leadership theories and related information concerning administration. 3) During the BSN program, the program educates us learners with relevant skills to accomplish the guidelines outlined in Essential III. Using electronic databases search engines like CINAHL and PubMed, additional evidence-based practices allowed me to correlate with all my case studies, allowing me to make critical decisions making the latter a point of reference. Essential III also equipped me with enough skills to carry out research to formulate my clinical judgment based on various literature. 4) I was able to apply the basic knowledge acquired from Essential IV to promote quality patient care effectively. For instance, electronic record data can provide essential data about potential medication interactions or even an allergy that causes severe effects on patients. Making proper decisions and medical choices help keep the patient safe, thus enhancing patient safety—telemedicine fellow nurses and I monitor patients without necessarily being there. 5) By understanding the core data in Essential V, nurses can know that it is key to analyze healthcare policies and know that they regulate their practice in their healthcare setting. Also, they act as advocates for promoting social justice, thus promoting quality patient care. The knowledge acquired from this essential is vital as it aids the nurses in formulating policies. Nonetheless, I can use the ethical framework to assess those social policies’ effects on vulnerable groups in the healthcare arena. 6) The essential VI of the BSN program focuses on effective collaboration and communication between the medical staff to increase patient outcomes (A GUIDE TO THE ESSENTIALS OF BACCALAUREATE EDUCATION FOR NURSING, 2015). Nurses are responsible for taking the most care of the doctor. They always remain up to date with the condition of the patients. This is the reason they always need to be communicative with each other. This can easily be achieved by holding daily meetings with all the nurse staff. Daily meetings will help tremendously in discussing every patient and checking the progress of each of them. 7) The essential VII of baccalaureate education of Nursing involves the principle of Clinical prevention and population health. This is an essential job duty of a nurse. Besides being a caretaker, she is also an educator. She also encourages people to maintain their health and make sure that they stay away from factors that will result in causing them to get a disease (Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: NCLEX-RN, 2020). This essential can easily be achieved with nurses advising the patient before discharge about what changes they can make in their lifestyle to improve their health. National campaigns held by nurses can also achieve it. 8) The essential VIII of Baccalaureate of Nursing program encourages the professional attitude and professionalism in the field of nursing (A GUIDE TO THE ESSENTIALS OF BACCALAUREATE EDUCATION FOR NURSING, 2015). Professionalism is considered a foundation for any profession. And it has tremendous appeal in the field of nursing. Nurses are caretakers, and they are responsible for assisting and taking care of other people’s health. So, they must always stay professional at all points. They should never let their personal opinions and feelings to affect their job as caretakers, and they should discriminate among patients. 9) The essential IX of Baccalaureate or nursing program states that nurses should be prepared to practice with patients that demand various different types of care. This ensures that the nurses are the primary caretakers. They work with every patient and communities of patients irrespective of their cultural and ethical background. Diversity in the field of nursing is tremendously important. Nurses should not discriminate between their patients. …
