Although I have not worked as a RN yet, while I was in nursing school I was working as a PCT. I was sitting for a patient and the nurse had to administer blood to the patient. While I knew that the nurse had to stay in the room for the first 15 minutes during blood administration, I did not tell her anything when she left as soon as she started the IV. She didn’t even take the vitals or ask me too. After 5 minutes went by, I called for her to come back and she did. If I was ever in that position again, I would tell the nurse before she leaves the room that she needs to stay by the patient for the first 15 minutes, and if she’s busy then she needs to ask for help because that’s not fair for the patient. I strongly encourage that you do not wait until the very last minute to complete your assignments. Your assignments in weeks 4 and 5 require early planning as you would need to present a teaching plan and interview a community health provider. I advise you look at the requirements for these assignments at the beginning of the course and plan accordingly. I have posted the YouTube link that explains all the class assignments in detail. There are TWO discussion questions each week, hence, you need a total minimum of SIX discussion posts for each week. I usually post a discussion question each week. You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.
