Format

Paper should be 3-5 pages in length (not including cover/bibliography pages). It should be typed using a 12 point font size and double spaced. The cover page should include a title, your name, class information and due date.

Introduction – Parents’ culture; how many brothers sisters: where did you live?; where did you attend school? Parents from Iraq, middle east, 2 brothers and no sisters. In Iraq, Baghdad. Attended school in baghdad.

What was your of your family’s orientation? Good socioeconomic status, mom was a teacher, dad was a supervisor at one of the oil institutions in my mother country iraq. Had a beautiful cozy house and a car and we lived a nice and happy life.

Write about their values, beliefs, or attitudes supported by your cultural group. They grew us up in catholoic church and they always encouraged us to always follow the church beliefs and values and respect others and they were consrevative and protective of us. (you can add more about the middle eastern cultures and believes because my family encouraged us to be a part of our social group and our society and be part of it)

What were some stresses your family of orientation experienced, and how did your family adapt? A big challenge that my family faced was the never ending wars in iraq and all the conflicts between different social groups, my country always had problems and still do so my family tried to always protect us and provide a safe place for us to leave we were moving between cities looking for the safest place to live and find jobs and go to school. My family kept the positive attitude and their religious beliefs that helped them overcome all the obstacles they faced (you can add more info as you find relative to this)

What were three socialization goals communicated by your family of orientation? Love all people, be positive all the time, and work hard in all fields of life (you can elaborate on this)

What will be three socialization goals you will share with your family of procreation? I always tell my kids to love each other and love other people because love is the foundation of a good life. Also I encourage my kids to be truthful and tell the truth no matter what because that is how they can establish a bright future and happy life. And finally they have to respect each other and respect others. (you can also elaborate on those 3 aspects )

Conclusion – As an adult now – how do you think your family influenced you as a successful person/ my parents were hard working people and they never gave up no matter how hard life got and this made me who i am today. I don’t give up when I face hardships and I keep going until I overcome them. I taught my children to do so too. I also followed my mother’s steps to become a teacher, even though I couldn’t achieve that in my home country but here I am working a full time job at a school and taking care of my husband and 3 children and I am going to school and studying hard to become a teacher and achieve my goal.
