Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
No society can work efficiently in the absence of effective leadership. The movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows displays a lot of leadership traits applicable in individual lives.
One of the leadership traits displayed in the scenes of the movie is that it is through experience and consistent learning that individuals in society develop healthy leadership styles and become great leaders. Good leaders think outside the box and come up with solutions to different problems in society. Thinking outside the box involves borrowing ideas from other knowledgeable individuals and choosing those ideas that best suits the situation at hand (Colton, 2010). Another leadership trait learned from the scenes of the movie is that no leader can lead all alone. Individuals are talented in different fields, and their knowledge is needed for a leader to succeed in achieving the set objectives. For instance, Harry Potter needed the help of both Hogwarts and Hermione to search for Horcruxes.
The main characters in the movie also portray significant leadership traits. For instance, Ron Wesley represents his bravery when he decides to accompany Harry Potter in his mission to search for Horcruxes. Besides, he also portrays loyalty to Harry by abandoning Hogwarts and joining him. Hermione Granger displays smartness through coming up with meticulous plans that save the friends in different situations (Colton, 2010). It is, therefore, crucial for a leader to be smart to come up with measures that can protect other people in stressful situations. Besides, Albus Dumbledore lays bright plans for Harry Potter, which makes it possible for him to succeed in his mission.
Harry Potter, one of the protagonists in the movie, displays courage and determination, which plays a significant role in helping him achieve his mission. For instance, Potter decides not to go back to schools and focuses on pursuing and destroying Horcruxes. Leaders should, therefore, be courageous and determined and make critical decisions for the greater good of the people. Faithfulness is also displayed in the movie (Underhill, 2018). Harry is faithful to his mission and allows nobody to interfere with his mission. Leaders should, therefore, be committed to serving those under them.
Some essential traits in leadership and communication can also be obtained from the movie. The movie teaches individuals the importance of talking about the truth in every situation. Leaders should always tell the truth, which can help people realize the problems in society and come up with possible solutions. Another important lesson learned from the movie is that people, and especially leaders, should always confront a crisis. When faced with difficult situations, individuals should face challenges but not give up (Underhill, 2018). Confronting challenges can make people develop a thick skin and hence tackle current and future problems. The skill of planning is also emphasized in the movie. To emerge victoriously, people should plan.
The in-group in the movie is a group of young people who have mobilized themselves to fight injustice in the society. Harry Potter and his friends are determined to fight Horcruxes, which are objects of dark magic representing evil and death in the community (Colton, 2010). The Horcruxes represent the out-groups in the film.
I think the protagonist in the movie displays the importance of courage in leadership. As a leader, an individual should be ready to face all the difficulties without fear of intimidation. For instance, Harry Potter was courageous enough to face Horcruxes.
In conclusion, a myriad of leadership traits can be obtained from the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows. For instance, leaders should be faithful, courageous, and willing to face situations whenever they arise.
