Do you view nursing as a career or as a job? What are your professional goals related to nursing? I view nursing as majorly a career rather than a job that primarily entails providing quality care to the patient regardless of race, ethnicity, background, and religion by treating the patients with respect, dignity, and compassion as a priority. I consider it not just an occupation, but as a professional career in the healthcare industry (Raymond, James, Jacob & Lyons, 2018). In my view, initially, the motivations for becoming a registered nurse (RN) professionally get much different from the reasons one stays in nursing professionally. Gradually, professional nurses will acknowledge that professional nursing practice is a serious career dedicated to protecting, promoting, and optimizing good health through injury and illness prevention. I still acknowledge that many nurses need to have a clear insight that a professional nursing career requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) certificate for knowledge expansion in management and clinical competency through the experience one goes through (Masters, 2020). As per my view, my professional nursing entails having the will to transform research evidence into practices regularly and getting committed to advancing the patient’s health and the nursing profession. My nursing career can get viewed as a job since I can obtain the least education required and be granted a job license through the minimum requirement, which is BSN that is required and gives the chance to further the education for the job. My career field meets the requirement of a reasonable work output for a reasonable pay since the services are on-demand from the patients. I end up working in shifts with other professional nurses in the clinical setting (Masters, 2020). I am joyfully and actively engaged in the professional nursing science and art practice. As a member, I am engaged in leadership roles associated with professional nursing activities within nurses’ professional nursing and healthcare agency. My professional goals in nursing care entail practicing quality care to the patients through full exploitation of the training and education for better patient outcomes as the American healthcare legislation requires. I need to identify the areas of strength and areas that require growth essentially to determine nursing professional goals. I have pursued more knowledge to narrow the limitations and improve the nursing profession’s strengths in the healthcare field. Furthering education will ensure that I remain competitive and informed of the upcoming expectations and procedures in the healthcare industry (Masters, 2020). Provision of excellent quality care to the patients and developing interpersonal skills are essential professional goals related to my nursing field. Interpersonal skills need effective communication and collaboration among all medical professionals to deliver excellent care to the patients. I ensure that the increased patient-centered care gets essential in attending to all the patient’s needs for medication, treatment, and emotional support, which significantly impacts the satisfaction levels and patient experience. A job is viewed as an undertaking that an individual is occupied with request make a winning. A career then again implies the encounters from work exercises just as projects in preparing that help a person in the progression of duties just as pay (Laschinger, 2015). Fundamentally, the work insight, achievement of undertakings and instructive accomplishment characterizes the vocation of a person. Consequently, I for one view nursing as a profession and not work. The duties that are related with the field of nursing are so genuine and delicate and this necessary more consideration and not see nursing as an occupation that gets bills paid and the advancement of life. An occupation and a vocation are incredibly separated by the demeanor of a person (Ahn, 2018). With the inspirational mentality that I have about nursing just as long-haul objectives arranging and future direction of my nursing, I consequently believe nursing to be a profession as opposed to a vocation. The accomplishment of the center attendant attributes is one of my objectives in the field of nursing. This I will accomplish by meeting the insignificant nursing necessities as well as additional seeking after additional affirmations and licenses in the profession way of nursing. Third objective that I consider for the vocation improvement in nursing arrangement of the best administrations to people needing clinical help; this is an objective that I intend to accomplish by being a compelling communicator to the patients to accomplish well-disposed patient-nurture condition that will fulfill the patients. I view nursing as a career because I am passionate undergo training programs, jobs and experiences that will advance my responsibilities in offering healthcare to others. I have numerous professional goals related to nursing that I am working aggressively to achieve. I intend to improve my healthcare provision expertise that will enable me to have advanced responsibilities and widen my career scope. Besides, I plan to advance interpersonal skills that will allow me to communicate and collaborate with others to offer high-quality healthcare service to patients. I have a positive perception when searching new position. I am passionate about helping others and finding a unique position to help people feel like fulfilling my call to serve. Maintaining a professional appearance and practice is essential for every health worker (Masters, 2018). I uphold all nursing professional skills, ethics and values that make me confident in finding new positions in helping others. After graduation, I am planning to be part of a nursing professional organization. I want to join a team of workforce that we share the same passion for serving others. I am an active person, and I anticipate being highly involved in the frontline as we administer care to our patient. I will also advocate for radical reforms in the healthcare sector that will mitigate disparities in healthcare provision. I have tremendous courage to ask for honest feedback. According to Harper & Maloney (2017), honesty and transparency in the workplace are primary value for human service workers. I always ready to give honest feedback to my colleagues. I have trained to listen to negative feedback with empathy to ensure I respond appropriately and in a non-offensive manner. Listening with empathy helps me internalize feedback and respond after creative thinking. That way, I maintain a healthy and professional relationship with colleagues.
