I will attach the syllabus: (the first one is what I need now) But Clinical Problem Research Paper

Clinical Problem Paper (20%) – Due the second week of class

Select a clinical issue or problem that may be developed into a researchable question. Write a three page original paper describing the issue or problem, why it is important to nursing, and why it continues to be a problem for nursing. Formulate a question that will be developed into a formal research question by the conclusion of the course. The chosen clinical issue will be the topic of two additional papers. This is a formal paper, using APA format and including a title page (not counted in the page count for the paper). The paper MUST INCLUDE ONE REFERENCE FROM A PEER REVIEWED NURSING JOURNAL.

Select three original, published nursing research studies (single studies only) relevant to the clinical issue or problem previously selected. Write a 6-8 page paper, including title and reference pages and concise APA format. This paper MUST BE SUBMITTED TO TURN IT IN prior to submission for grading. Organize the paper using the following sections with Level 1 headings: Clinical Problem Research Paper

Introduction In this paragraph, introduce the nursing problem or issue identified in your first paper. Why is it a concern for nursing?

Research studies reviewed Identify the current state of knowledge for your topic (what was the result of your literature search?). Discuss the types of studies that have been conducted regarding the clinical issue/problem, and whether there is sufficient evidence from the literature to address the issue. Did your literature search result in few nursing research studies or several studies concerning the issue?

Discussion Summarize and describe each of the three research articles. The following elements MUST be discussed for each of the studies: study purpose/aim, methodology, sample, instruments (quantitative studies), findings, author recommendations.

Analysis The final paragraph should address what this review of the literature tells you about the current state of knowledge for your clinical issue (what is known and not known about the topic?). What is your interpretation of the findings; will the studies be helpful in making a nursing practice decision on your topic?

Reference list and title page Include an APA formatted title page and reference page with proper citation of the research studies reviewed.

Critical Review (25%) – Due the sixth week of class

Course Assignments – Overview Successful completion of this course requires students to submit all required course deliverables outlined in each week/topic of the online course shell. While the syllabus outline general expectations for assignments are listed below, students will find specific details for each assignment within the course (weekly/topic overviews and assignment details). A quick overview of the assignments due is available by viewing each week’s overviews and “Assignments at a Glance & Gradebook.” Additionally, classroom students should reference the “Classroom Assignment Timeline” to be sure they are adequately prepared for each week’s class meeting requirements. All written assignments are worth 100 points; online discussions are worth 20 points (classroom attendance and classroom discussion are worth 20 points each per week); quizzes (if any) are worth 20 points; and the Final Paper / Project is worth 100 points. Class Participation Class participation is necessary in order to complete both the face-to-face and online course. Unlike traditional courses, those in the accelerated programs rely heavily on the dynamics of cohort interaction and group processing in order to integrate and apply the learning of academic content. The cohort model also emphasizes the development and practice of interpersonal communication skills and teamwork (e.g., group problem solving and negotiation). In practical terms, one module session is equivalent to up to three weeks of traditional semester course work. Students in the classroom course are expected to attend every class meeting and be prepared by having completed all assignments due for that week. For the online course, a class week is defined as the period between Day 1 (usually Monday) 12:01 am EST and Day 7 (usually Sunday) at 11:59 PM EST. The actual days of the week may change depending on what day a semester begins. Refer to the Semester Submissions Schedule in your course on Moodle. Learners will:  participate fully and consistently in course activities  approach those activities well-prepared (by having completed reading and any related assignments), and  engage in a constructive and supportive manner in discussions and exchanges with peers and course facilitator. Facilitators evaluate student participation based on both consistency and quality of participation in course activities. Written Assignments Students will complete a variety of assignments on relevant course content. Grading reflect students’ quality completion of all assignments. Students should create a backup file for each assignment submitted for grading. See weekly/topic overview documents for assignment specifics. IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY Department of Nursing Paper Grading Criteria The following guidelines were developed to help the learner understand the qualities of scholarly written communication. Written assignments often overlap in aspects of the following categories: superior, above average, average, and below average. However, the assigned grade will reflect the overall judgment of the faculty according to the following descriptions. SUPERIOR A* The paper is clear, engaging, original and focused; ideas and content are richly developed with breadth and depth. Organization and form enhance the central idea and theme; ideas are presented coherently. The writing is compelling and conveys the meaning through effective sentence structure and precise word choices. The writer successfully moves the paper through academic constructs and documentation to critical analysis. The paper demonstrates a clear balance of the course components. The paper demonstrates precise APA format. ABOVE AVERAGE B** The paper is clear, focused, and well supported; ideas are adequately developed through details, examples, with adequate breadth and depth. Clinical Problem Research Paper
Well organized and focused, ideas are presented coherently. The writing contributes to the writer’s meaning through appropriate and varied sentence structure and word choices. Surface features do not interfere with understanding or distract from meaning. The writer has clearly brought the reader through properly cited academic constructs and documentation, but has not fully developed the area of critical analysis. The paper demonstrates accurate APA format. AVERAGE C** The paper has some focus and support; ideas and content may be developed with limited details and examples with breadth and depth. The writing may be somewhat disorganized or too obviously structured. Basic sentence structure and limited vocabulary convey a simple message. Surface feature errors may reduce understanding and interfere with meaning. The content areas of academic constructs are limited, and large generalizations are made. Critical analysis is minimal. The paper demonstrates accurate APA format. BELOW AVERAGE D The paper has little focus or development-with few details or examples. The content is narrow and superficial with minimal support of ideas and content. There is minimal support for ideas and/or content. There is little organization or direction in the paper.
