The ethical question in here is why Volkswagen owner acted unethically had cheated on the air tests subjected to the company by the united states. Volkswagen failed to produce safe products with minimized pollution as required by the corporate social responsibility. Therefore the company threatened the wellbeing of people in the community since air pollution caused by road vehicles is detrimental to human health.. Don’t worry about complications or drawbacks just yet. In the next step, you’ll narrow down your ideas. For now, just focus on generating an array of options. Consider the following questions:
  • What different options are available?
  • Have you identified creative options?

Some of the options available include;

·         Partnering with the company under conditions that incase of ethical issues then

     they will be accountable.

·         Partner with the company under maximum supervision.

·         Create a partnership that is private.

·         Avoid partnering with such a company.

·         Accept the partnership

Now, choose three of the most plausible courses of action to examine in more detail. In the table below, explain the following:

  • What are the advantages/disadvantages of each option?
  • Can the best alternative be implemented?

Option Description Advantages Disadvantages
Option 1: partner with them under conditions that incase of ethical issues then they will be accountable. The partnering company will be accountable for any unethical issues. In case of unethical scandal from the partner the company may ruin its reputation.
Option 2: partner with  them under maximum supervision This will help the company ensure that they are aware of any false information through evaluation. The partnering company may still have some bad reputation in the past that would affect their customers.
Option 3:avoid partnering with such a company The company remains safe and only works to avoid ethical issues within its business. The company may not be able to receive funding from this company.

  1. Decision: In the context of the options that you examined in the previous step, how do you think Gauze and Effect should proceed with the partnership? In your rationale, relate your reasoning to an ethical concept or theory discussed in the competency readings.

Gauze and Effect should not proceed to partnering with Volkswagen company since ethical issues such as falsified information may negatively affect the company since individuals still have the mentality that the auto motive company may still be using false information. In this case, it is also important for Gauze and Effect should ensure that the employees are accountable for unethical behaviors. By doing this, the company may be able to avoid ethical dilemma.

The reason why l would recommend Gauze and Effects not to proceed with the partnership is because; having such ethical issues my ruin its reputation since voltzwagen has a bad reputation too. Additionally, consumers and customers will tend to associate gauze and effect company with the falsified information or false data.
