Topic: Is Infanticide in primates a male reproductive strategy or a pathological behavior that is a product of stress?

Most primate behaviors have been proven to have specific biological and evolutionary reasons and causes. Through extensive anthropological research, scientists have deducted the reason behind certain actions taken in the pursuit of survival. However, the debate continues as to what motivates and causes the relatively common primate behavior of infanticide. In this case, more than survival, the behavior is aimed to pass on one’s genes. As the passing of genes is rewarded in infanticide, this is the most likely cause.
