It consists of improving patient experience and satisfaction while undergoing treatment. Patient care entails enhancing safety, reducing pain, pallor, and pulse to improve their conditions. However, various challenges exist, such as disconnection in terms of doctorpatient communication. Nowadays, medical providers are seeking improvised ways to increase the delivery of services and patient care. Various research identifies bedside shift as a significant innovation towards awareness and efficiency in the health care setting. This paper seeks to analyze how to improve patient care through bedside shift reporting. Clinical problem statement Communication and doctor-patient relationships are vital concepts that facilitate the delivery of effective care. In essence, the patient should provide adequate information regarding their health and history. The doctors can then provide the right diagnosis that will not affect the patient’s health negatively. The healthcare sector displays a considerable dissatisfaction amongst the nurses, patients, family, and staff due to a lack of adequate knowledge (Bigani and Correia, 2018). It is an existing problem that rises more with the emergence of technological advancements such as electronic records. Mostly, patients desire to communicate their immediate needs and acquire information concerning their progress. Therefore, a shift is necessary to solve the existing gap in quality patient care. However, they fail to address an underlying issue of nurse and patient satisfaction in terms of patient care. In this case, the change proposal will reduce adverse events and near misses when taking care of the patients. More so, it incorporates the role of communication and awareness in patient health and safety. It is imperative to abide by the ethical principle of autonomy that grants the patient the right to acknowledgment. The change incorporates other previous interventions that increase patient care safety. PICOT question Among patients admitted to the hospital (P), how do nurses’ bedside shift reports (I), compared to traditional reports outside of patients’ rooms (C), affect the occurrence of adverse events (O) during hospital stay (T)? The change proposal seeks to increase the number of patients admitted to the health care organization. It presents the intervention of introducing the nurses’ bedside shift report in the health care system. The proposal compares the outcomes to the traditional words outside the patient’s room. The main objective of the proposal is to reduce the patient stay in the hospital while it increases patient care efficiency. Literature search strategy employed The literature search commences with identifying the research question for the proposed change. In this instance, the question is how to improve patient care through bedside shift reporting. The research will keep a record of essential words and phrases relevant to solve the problem. These factors provide vital information regarding the delivery of the care and what is lacking in the system to enhance satisfaction. After understanding the various scenarios in health care, we focus on the best external evidence regarding solutions to the problems. With adequate data and information, it is evident that the organization lacks proper nurse-patient communication. It brings changes in financial utilization that can face significant opposition from the stakeholders who finance the organization (Ofori-Atta, 2019). Moreover, the intervention may have a lack of clarity on operational guidelines. It is vital to adhere to health care guidelines to deliver efficient and effective patient care. The management can draft and project plan that highlights the existing problems and importance of the project. It will ensure that the stakeholders understand the value of the new intervention plan. Further, creating a sensitivity analysis and capital budgeting can help the organization access the future cost of the project. In this case, they can convince and acquire capital from investors and credit organizations to implement the bedside report project.
