Literature Evaluation Table Student Name: Jaime Morgan Beard Summary of Clinical Issue (200-250 words): Drug usage is a significant factor that promotes psychological challenges among different people. Failing to regulate the rate at which people use drugs may result in their addiction, and this may, in turn, make it relatively challenging when the medical team may try to manage the conditions that they may develop. The relationship between people who may depend on drugs and the other people in the community that they live is affected by the continued use of drugs. One of the conditions that the people who use drugs may develop is the psychological distress that may come as a result of the continued exposure to the drugs. As a result of this exposure, children may find it relatively challenging to cope with the environment where they live as well as in completing their daily activities. Although the management of this and other related psychological challenges may be relatively hard, medical practitioners advocates for the application of therapy sessions as adequate means of managing this condition. For the medical practitioners to succeed in the provision of treatment approaches using this approach, collaboration with the patients may assist in facilitating the management of the stated health issue. The above is because when the two parties work closely together, they may have the skills that will enable the patient to overcome the condition. PICOT Question: Population: The population of this research involves children with psychological distress. Intervention: Therapy sessions will be offered to the affected community to ensure that they recover. Control: The control of this research is a community that will not undergo a therapy session. Outcome: There will be a reduction in the psychological distress that childhood trauma survivors experience. Time: The expected period for the completion of this study is 90 days. Running Head: PICOT QUESTIONS 1 Picot Questions Jaime Morgan Beard October 20, 2019 2 PICOT QUESTIONS Picot questionnaire and research Introduction Drug abuse among different members who live in different communities is one of the well-known challenges that affect their relationship with other people (Spector & Kitsuse, 2017). In addition to this, multiple health challenges are linked to the use of drugs among different people. Among the children who may engage in drugs, numerous health challenges are liked with the above-mentioned issue, and this may result in sophisticated treatment approaches when addressing the stated subject. Psychological distress is one of the problems that is linked with the use of drugs and other physical and emotional issues that the children may undergo. Over the recent past, the rate of childhood trauma survivors among the children who abused drugs getting psychological distress has increased thus calling for the development of a high-level approach that may assist in facilitating the management of these challenges. NRS433V PICOT Statement Research
Lack of a high level and reliable method that may help in treating this condition is one of the factors that makes this challenge a relatively complex issue to manage (Ross, 2017). According to specialists, therapy sessions can assist in the management of the psychological distress that may affect a person who may survive childhood trauma. In that case, lack of adequate therapy sessions among the survivors has contributed towards the increased rate of people who suffer from the above-mentioned condition. This paper will evaluate the most appropriate approach that can assist in managing the psychological distress among a child’s population. PICOT Population: the population that this research is a population involving children with psychological distress. Methodology In any research, the selection of the most appropriate research method is one of the factors that may promote the success of the involved study (Palinkas et al., 2015). In that case, the application of the most appropriate research method will assist the researcher in obtaining the data that may help them in making a high-level decision. Although the condition is mainly focused on children, the researcher will require to incorporate teenagers and other relatively old children who will act as the control of this study. The researcher will incorporate 450 children from different schools as well as significant health institutions who are admitted with the abovestated health condition. The researcher will include participants from diverse backgrounds to facilitate adequate learning about the approaches that different communities rely on in managing this condition. Since decision making is a relatively complex issue, the researcher in this study 3 PICOT QUESTIONS will need to incorporate the contributions that participants will make to enable them to improve the management strategy that is used to control the above-stated condition. Data collection After analyzing the influence that this condition has, it will be necessary that the researcher puts in place a high-level strategy that can enable them to collect data concerned with this condition. In addition to this, the researcher will need to depend on a reliable plan that will make the collecting and analyses of the data that will be collected. Since this is a relatively sensitive topic, case study analysis is one of the reliable approaches that the researcher will rely on to ensure that they gather relevant data related to the item in question. The benefit of selecting this data collection and analysis approach is because the method provides both the information as well as the challenges that the researcher may expect in the study in question. Through this, it will be possible for the researcher to evaluate among the strategies that were proposed by different researchers and in that case, have the ability to make a high-level decision regarding the topic in question. Apart from this, the researcher will engage health specialists with a questionnaire that will enable them to learn about the belief that they have towards this condition and the approaches that they recommend to assist in its management. In regard to the study population that the researcher selected in the previous section, it will be necessary that the researcher separates the group into two groups. NRS433V PICOT Statement Research
This approach will enable them to provide therapy sessions to half of the group and leave the rest. Although both groups will be offered with medicinal drugs, one of these teams will not receive therapy treatment. The researcher in this study will depend on the second group that they will not provide with the stated therapy session to make them act as the control group for the study. Through them, it will be possible for the researcher to conclude about the functionality and reliability of the strategy that they will put in place. Results As stated in the previous section, the application of therapy sessions to patients with the stated condition has a positive influence on the reduction of the global challenges that they may face. In that case, the completion of this study will give the researcher an insight related to the stated problem as well as the most important ways that can assist in the management of the issue in question. The rate of emotional challenges that the patients with this condition experiences tend to decrease as a result of the provision of therapy sessions to the patients. For the group that the researcher did not offer therapy, there was no change in the emotional challenges that they undergo. In addition to this, there was an improvement in the relationship that the group that was offered therapy sessions as well as medicinal drugs with the other people as well as with the health providers. The above occurred as they were able to learn how they can appreciate themselves as well as develop a positive self-image. For the 90 days that the researcher completed this study, there was no significant change among the group whom the researcher did not administer the proposed solution of the health issue that they faced. Discussion Psychological distress is one of the significant challenges that may affect a community that may use drugs (Szymanski & Lewis, 2017). In most cases, failing to manage the use of drugs may have a negative influence on the overall health of the general community. However, 4 PICOT QUESTIONS the implementation of therapy sessions has played an essential role in ensuring that patients can recover from the psychological condition that they may suffer. Besides, most therapy sessions assist the affected community in learning how they can develop a positive self-image that helps them in the management of the psychological issues that may face. From the completed study as well as the data that the researcher collected, it is evident that drug users may have a cynical long-term psychological challenge to the users of the involved substance (Fothergil et al., 2017). In addition to this, the collaboration techniques that may occur between the health practitioners and the patients may assist them in the development of a high-level strategy that may help in the management of the condition. Conclusion Psychological conditions are one of the relatively challenging issues that may affect different people in a community. For the children, psychological distress may come from various sources where childhood trauma is one of the forces that increase the rate of infection among the children. Early diagnosis of this condition is imperative in that it enables the team to come up with a high-level approach that may assist in the management of the issue in question. Alth …
